An original story after the Thousand-Year Blood War
The official introduction places Mirrors High after the Thousand-Year Blood War. The player's protagonist awakens in Karakura Town and begins a journey as a Soul Reaper. The game presents an original story rather than simply retelling the earlier anime arcs.
This page discusses the announced setting and cast. It does not summarize later chapter events. If you want to avoid even the timeline premise, start with the combat guide and return to the story after you have caught up with BLEACH.
The player at the center
Mirrors High describes the protagonist as the player. The system overview includes avatar customization and changes to the Zanpakuto's appearance and fighting style, connecting the story to a Soul Reaper you can personalize.
Shirin Migishima is presented in the official character introduction as the protagonist, voiced by Chiaki Kobayashi. The website also introduces Shirane Sanari, Naru Jurinna, Giro Hando, and Maiko Tokishima among the new faces. Follow the official cast pages for their own introductions rather than inferring squad roles from appearance alone.
New faces, established world
The launch-period announcements expand the original cast with new squad members designed by Tite Kubo. These characters appear alongside returning figures such as Ichigo, Rukia, Renji, Byakuya, and Toshiro.
Story appearances and playable launch units are separate categories. The character archive focuses on the 13 returning characters with published gameplay introductions. A character being featured in the story or a promotional illustration does not, by itself, establish a playable unit or its abilities.
The opening animation
The official opening is animated by PIERROT FILMS and uses the theme song “CRITICAL” by suisoh. It introduces the mood and cast of the game through a dedicated animation.
Watch it here, then use the official website's character section to explore the new cast. For a look at the game's battle systems rather than the story presentation, open the combat guide and its official gameplay overview.
